This "Spotlight on" was created in Aug. 2025.....the 2nd album attributed to our friend, Hubert James Williams. The first album was launched in 2016 with the announcement of James being named the President of Mt. St. Joseph University
I had the priviledge of reconnecting with James at the August 16, 2025 NC HBCU Black Colleges and Universities Living Legends Scholarship Fundraising Gala. James is a past "Living Legend" honoree (the first class of 2015) . And in 2025, over 20 Dr. H. James Williams' scholarships were issued to deserving students. The NC HBCU Living Legends organization was the creation of EF '76 William Hairston. In 2014, William reflected on his own personal challenges with staying in college. He wanted to prevent current students from facing similar challenges. He shared his vision with a small group of friends which led to the creation of this now decade long organization)
After a bit of light scolding James for not having attended past class unions, it's my expectation that he will begin participating at future events, and hopefully becoming active on our class site. Living in Ohio of course makes it a bit more challenging, but it's hopeful an opportunity will present itself soon.
In any event, here's an updated bio on James. Thought I'd include pictures of James in 2024 with a number of '73 Eagles taken after the funeral of a classmate. And I'm adding the pic William Hairstontook at the 2025 HBCU of me, James, and my husband John Comer.
