It seems a shame that some of our classmates have passed with no written memory of our times together at East. Willie was one of the quiet ones. But every time I look at his photo I smile. John Anderson--a friend of Willie's--used to call him "little, built-up man" because Willie had a natural muscularity that belied his gentle nature. When you got to know Willie, he was a fun guy. I'm sorry he's gone.
I only knew Willie for the years at East. He always seemed in control of hisself and his profile picture is really how I remember his expression to always be.
