When I turned to this page, I was surprised there were not pages of notes...then I understood. After all these years, it is hard to write with tears in our eyes. Kathy, what a sweetheart. Sherry Boyles
Kathy! She always smelled so good! We spent countless hours on the bus together, talking and laughing! There was a time when she, Paige Lauten Deal, Tony Chambers, and I were often in our own little world on those afternoon bus rides. I was sad when their stops came on Gumtree Road. More than that, I was blessed to be in most of Kathy's classes with her through Union Cross and Glenn. She was truly a part of my daily life for most of a decade. Sure, I had a crush on her -- several times, through those years. I had gone on to Parkland when her wreck occurred. The news seemed surreal. Maybe I had no real closure with her because our fellowship is not closed. I want to sit and talk to Kathy again, and plan to do so in a place where there are no more wrecks. I miss you, Kathy!
Kathy's death was one of the tragedies we experienced in our young lives. I don't know how it started, but Randy McGee and I wound up eating lunch with Kathy almost every day. She was hilarious! Randy nicknamed her "Jabber", because she talked non-stop. I never see a Datsun B210 that I don't think of her, and I still hate them for the part one played in taking her from us.
