PHILLIPS CLEMMONS, NC Elizabeth Glover Phillips Aug. 9, 1937 - Nov. 6, 2014 Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Glover Phillips, 77, of Clemmons, NC, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 6, 2014. She was born August 9, 1937, in Gastonia, a daughter of the late William Frederick, Sr. and Robbie Lee Jenkins Glover. Lib was a marketing teacher in public schools for over 30 years, retiring from East Forsyth High School after 27 years of service. She earned her B.S. degree from East Carolina University where she was Chairman of Women's Judiciary Committee, named to Who's Who, and was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She was a longtime, active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where she chaired the Mission Committee, and was a member in good standing of the "So Called" Book Club. She was a devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother. Survivors of Mrs. Phillips include her husband of 48 years, Jack B. Phillips of Clemmons; daughter, Tracey Phillips Peake and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Hayden and Holland Peake, all of Clayton, NC; sister, Phyllis Glover Kelly of Camden, SC; brother, William Frederick Glover, Jr. of Gastonia, NC; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Lib's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 10, 2014 at Wesley Memorial UMC, 1210 Bolton St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 with Rev. Bret Cogan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. A graveside service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia with her nephew, Mr. Lee Melton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
