Lewis, Stella Pfaff -- KERNERSVILLE -- Winston-Salem Journal -- December 7, 2009

Mrs. Stella Pfaff Lewis, 91, passed away on Saturday, December, 5, 2009. She was affectionately know as "MawMaw" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and has gone to join "PawPaw". She was born December 2, 1918 in Winston-Salem, NC, to Jefferson Hoke Pfaff and Maude Transou Pfaff (Dunn), who predeceased her.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Lewis, Jr.; her daughter, Nancy Lewis Still; and brothers and sisters, J.P. Pfaff, Ralph Pfaff, William Pfaff, Wayne Pfaff and Doris Sprinkle. She is survived by her brother, Clyde Pfaff; and her sister, Ruth Chandler. She is also survived by her son, Fred E. Lewis, III and his wife, Rachel B. Lewis; daughter, Ann Lewis Jenkins of Winston-Salem; a son-in-law, Jerome Still, Jr.; and grandchildren, Barry Livingston, Connie Livingston Myers, Fred E. (Lou) Lewis, IV, Russell Lewis, Christy Tilley, and Amanda Wicker; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was living with her grandaughter, Christy Tilley, at the time of her passing. She was a graduate of Old Town High School in Winston-Salem, and attended Draughn's Business College. She was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. She was a member of Oak Summit United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem.

She will always be remembered for the love and care she bestowed on her family, and her ability to efficiently manage a career while being a full-time homemaker.
