Winston-Salem – Mr. James Lloyd Coe, Sr., 67, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at his residence. He was born on October 21, 1955, in Richmond County to John Samuel and Mabel Darnell Coe. James was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country. He was the owner and operator of James Coe Electric for 40 years. James had a strong personal relationship with his faith. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who had a big heart for everyone. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Jean Moss.

He is survived by his two children, James Coe, Jr. (wife, Catherine) and Amy Goins (husband, Darrick); three grandchildren, Annabelle, Elizabeth, and Christian Coe; siblings, Johnny Coe and Barbara Ann Halnan; his pet companion, Steady; and several extended family members including a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service for James will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:45pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forsyth County Humane Society at 4881 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
