Travis Young

James Travis Young: 46, born March 8, 1961 departed this life on Saturday, June 9, 2007.


James Travis Young attended Kings Mountain High School and completed his education by obtaining a GED. He served in the U.S. Army as a 64010 Motor Transport Operator, He received an honorable discharge along with a good conduct medal, army service ribbon and an expert badge for the M-16 rifle. He had the ability to work on anything mechanical and enjoyed working with landscaping.


He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ada Young Byers; his maternal grandparents, Lewis & Bessie James, and his paternal grandparents, Yates & Ruth Young.


He was formerly married to Melinda Witworth of Shelby, N.C.


He leaves to cherish his memories: his children – Reva Young and Chad Young two grandchildren – Stanley Lavon Whitesides Jr. and Xzavion Lavontae Whitesides; his parents, Elder Cornelius Young, St. and Helen J. Young; three brothers, Cornelius Young, Jr., Michele Young of Kings Mountain, N.C., and John Young, Sr. (Ketmaphine) of Gastonia, N.C.; three sisters, Louise Young Hicks (Robert) of Charlotte, NZ, Roberta, Young Wingo (Calvin) and Spring Young Williams both of Kings Mountain, N.C.; a special nephew, Gregory Young; special nieces, Brenda Young and Donna Young whom were all raised in the same home as brothers and sisters, and another special niece, Bobby Byers. In addition, he leaves seven nieces, five great nieces, five nephews, six great nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, We will miss him very much and will hold his memory in our hearts.

TRAVIS AND I STARTED AT GROVER SCHOOL!!..TRAVIS WOULD MAKE YOU LAUGH EVERYTIME YOU WOULD SEE HIM!!!!...TRAVIS WAS A FRIEND TO ME!!!.....R I P FRIEND
