David (Toasty) Hardin

I'm Toasty's mom. I really enjoyed reading the comments about him. Yes he was one of a kind. I think you have done a great job in getting this together. Toasty passed away on March 27, 1982. His birthday is Nov. 13. He was 19 years old. Thank you so much, Jackie

I can say he was a wonderful brother. We fought like brother and sisters do but he always took up for me when I needed him. I miss him so much and I cant wait to see him again so we can catch up. I love you and I will see ya again. Your sis Beanie

John Hardin (Toasty's Brother)

My favorite memories of Toasty were of the impromptu comedy bits he could come up with at the drop of a hat. He and I weren't as close as a lot of brothers, but I still have fond memories of him.

Our Jr year, Toasty and i did the mural for the Jr Sr Prom - the back drop for "Come Sail Away".  We painted it in the basement of a baptist church - maybe Oak Grove.  He really taught me how to paint.  Then we were in the Sr Play together.  Great guy.  We had the red hair in common too.

I have such fond memories of Toasty, he always gave me his time and caring heart.  I think of him often.  You always knew what you were getting with Toasty, he made me feel welcome as a "new girl" in the school.  Like JoAnna said, he didn't care what you looked like, he just liked you for who you were.  Suzanne Thornburg-Klein

I only knew Toasty a short while, as I moved to Kings Mtn November of our junior year. But I remember Toasty as someone that was easy to talk too. He made the  "new girl" feel very welcome. Thanks for that Toasty.....

Toasty was the sweetest, funniest, craziest guy I had ever been around. I loved being around him and I loved his family, after being around his mom and dad I knew where Toasty inherited his beautiful personality. What a loving family he has. Love you Toasty .... I miss all the laughs we had ... never a dull moment with you.
