William Riley "Bill" Greer

KINGSPORT - William "Bill" Greer, 40, of 1508 Stratford Road, died unexpectedly Friday (Oct. 6, 2000) at Johnson City Medical Center.

He was born in Kingsport and was a life long resident, graduating from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1978. He had been employed at Mini Fibers for 20 years.

Mr. Greer was a member of Oakwood Forest Christian Church.

He was an avid UT fan, a loving husband, father, and brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Charlotte Greer.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Greer; and two children, Lindsay and Justin Greer, all of the home; one sister, Kawana “Sis” Cooper and husband Jeff, Kingsport; two brothers, Bob Greer and wife Deb, Bolivia, N.C., and Harold Lee Bartley and wife Patsy, Boiling Springs, N.C.; a special mother-in-law, Frances Fulkerson; special brother-in-law, Len Fulkerson and wife Donna; and special friends, Steve and Tammy Corder.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ed Clevenger officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Oak Hill Cemetery.

(William’s mother was Charlotte (Lane) Greer from Scott Co.)

Bill passed away in 2000.
