Paul David Hooven, 56, of Kingsport died on Sunday, May 22, 2016. He was born December 28, 1959, in Fort Monmouth, NJ.

He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1978. He graduated from Northeast State Technical Community College with two Associate of Applied Science Degrees (Business Management 2000 and Accounting 2005) Cum Laude. David was Student Ambassador 1999-2000; Outstanding Student in Management 1999-2000, member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, member of Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society; listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges; was on The National Deans List. He was employed by Holliston Mills for over 38 years.

David was preceded in death by his father, Ernest D. Hooven of Kingsport and his furry companion, Lasso.

He is survived by his mother, Anna D. Hooven of Kingsport; daughter, Paige D. Hooven of Unicoi; brother, Peter D. Hooven and wife, Nancy of Kingsport; two nieces, Elizabeth and Victoria and husband Bruce Williams; one step-niece, Jennifer and husband Don Kincaid; two step-nephews, Auria, Kaira, and Dontré; and two great-nephews, Devin Hooven and Brentley Blair.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, and at other hours at the residence of his mother. Prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. with Father Michael Cummins officiating.

The inurnment service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the graveside by 12:45 p.m.
