Not entirely true. Laura graduated with us. we were in the same class up to fourth form. used to have breakfast in the mornings. She, Carmelita Ashman and Bridgette Barrett lived within the same area. Laura was such a nice girl. Little in body though. hanged out with us most times.

She died the year after graduation. The news really touched me. It was so sad.

May her soul rest in peace

Little in body and a beautiful young lady! She was in 7-1 with me and I remember defending her many a times because she got picked on a lot, mainly because of her petite statue among other things. Though I don't believe any harm was intended, those days we can all say, we were either picked on or we picked on someone. Nevertheless, she was the kind of person who was always pleasant with a smile on her face.

My grandmother use to live around the Red Hills area and from time to time when I was visiting her, I would often see Laura and one day she introduced me to her sisters. Donnice Grant shared the news with me and for that entire day all I cold see was this little girl who always had a smile on her face. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!!

For some reason I always thought it was Lauria , not Laura...maybe it was the way she would say her name - with such uncommon confidence...as beautiful as she was!

I can still see her now ( and hear her, too); the way she would stand before the class and say her name with such great pride and innocence, smiling sweetly and walking gracefully even as they snarled at her and spat words of disapproval. She didn't seem to hear them... she knew who she was.

I always wondered where she was and what she was doing, what kind of young woman she had become... until that sad day when I saw her face in the obituaries - Laura/Lauria Holman had left us... she never stayed very long - they never usually do. She is certainly not forgotten.
