Andrea had the most contagious laugh and had unique artistic skills. She could draw anything and was the best at calligraphy. Her spirit lives on in her daughter Jhenae, who happens to be my sister Sandra's god-daughter, who also begun the journey through the gates of St Hugh's just like her mother did, before migrating.
I learned just a few years ago that Andrea died and I felt so many emotions all at once joy for the years of friendship I had with her and will always cherish. Regret - for not having made greater efforts to stay in touch with her and all my friends. Love - for the woman I knew. I will always smile when I think of her because she was FUNNY! One of my favorite stories of Andrea was one she told me with a look of shock on her face. We left school and parted company in Cross Roads, she walked to a nearby store and in front of the store there was a woman selling pineapples. Andrea stopped to buy a pineapple, the woman peeled it and handed it to her - she gave her no bag for the pineapple. After arguing back and forth she still would not give Andrea a bag (may not have had one) but now Andrea was stuck with the pine in her hand, holding it by the stem. Well, she gave up on getting a bag and started to walk away while at the same time taking a bite of the pineapple (just in case she had to throw it away). As soon as she took a bite, she looked up and there was Mrs. Murray (formerly Boyne) looking at her with a look of disapproval on her face, she said nothing and Andrea dumped the pineapple. The following day, she was terrified, worried about what Mrs. Murray would say. I laughed hard at her dilemma. I cannot recall if she was ever reprimanded, but can clearly recall her being ill at ease and the good laugh I got. RIP my dear friend.
OMG, where have I been? i did not know about this. Andrea & myselff had classes together. I can hear her voice, omg. we were friends. Rest well ny classmate. Omg.
Andrea and I were best friends at John Mills Primary and when I passed the exam to go to St Hughs, I was upset to go to an all girls school but was comforted when I learned we were going together. She was always there for me through a lot and tolerated so many practical jokes that I played on her with a smile. She kept me from getting into too much trouble. I remember our group "Madness Total Madness" which included of Andrea, myself, Yvonne Riley and Ava Sewell.I was so happy to have been in Jamaica to hang out with her during her pregnancy and her daugher looked so much like her it was amazing. I heard she was sick while I was away and Even when I spoke to her a few days before she passed, she was the one who comforted me on the phone. That's just the kind of person she was.

Such warmth, kindness and friendship...
She was so gifted. She had the ability to recreate natural beauty on paper.
Andrea was a creative soul and taught us to see the beauty around us in a different way.
Your memory lives on....
