Somebody better bring a hat so we can pass it around to collect for the keg.....an we will all apologize right now to the poor schmuck who has to go to the liquor store with the hat and finds out there isn't enough money in it!

Rick Stegman (1987)

hey Kathy H I talked to Scott Kuhn today and he said he would be there. Now a question for Brad, while we were going to auto mechanics in Dodge were you already into the speedo thing because I am seeing a bad picture of you walking (PRANCING) around the shop with a speedo under your jeans? Does anybody else see the same picture? Laura I like your thinking of after the game festivities......

Lisa Miller (Hager) (1988)

Kathy S, Amen to that! Heck I don't even want my husband in the room. He is already scared about joining us. He told me there would be no singing of the Lita Ford song or watering the grass at a certain teachers house. I'll just send him home early haha!

Oh and by the way, what in the world are you doing checking this forum while you are at school. You mean they don't block the words, "beer, keg, boobs ect. on your school server? Didn't you know they have a law about that? Just ask Lance R. I'm sure he can make one...I mean find the statute.

Lance Ramsay (1988)

Lisa- They don't have a law yet. But it is in the works. You'll probably be hearing about it soon on the news. Right now lawmakers are calling it "Kathy Schaller's Law”…and you may want to get Kathy’s money up front in case she doesn’t make bail in time for the festivities.

Rick- Brad Putter is a “man’s man” and does NOT PRANCE………much…….anymore…..since he got caught….three times….last month….

Joe- As a witness to your leg breaking accident, I think we should share the lesson learned that night. That lesson? Even a little box on wheels is too damned heavy to use your leg as a kickstand when it’s flipping onto its side. Sure there was no door and it seemed kind of like a good idea for about a tenth of a second (even to this bystander), but not so much when we were tipping the thing back over to get our pal Joe and both “halves” of his leg free. Still, I blame Chad too, but that’s another lesson for another time. :-)

Lance S.- I’m sharing these important rules and laws with everyone NOW with the hope you’ll all help me stay out of the pokey. I’m counting on your help Lance!

Wendy- and then we can give the hat with money to someone 5-6 years older than us so they can buy the beer…for old times sake. Then when we stumble home smelling like beer mixed with bonfire, we can tell anyone interested we just went to the movie and rode around town for a little bit afterwards. Why mess with the proven winners?

Before SPEEDO's and Breast Milk in a time not so long ago, (at least it seems that way) I remember keg parties under the bridge! In the spirit and tradition of KHS the class of 89 will be hosting a Kegger under the bridge on Friday night after the kids have gone to bed! For those of you too old to remember how to get there call a friend, call a cab, call someone from the class of 89, we still know how to GET R DONE! Make sure to bring your cup! Brad you may want to bring two I don't want you to go thirsty!

09/26/08 12:39 AM #44

Misty Myers (Tenbrink) (1989)

I think us Cheerleaders are sitting back with our Squeaky's 7up & Cherry vodka just watching the convo, kinda like we did the football games! Haha didn't know that's what we had in our cups huh! Omg these posts are bringing back alot of memories, I'm making sure I sniff all drinks before the kids get on the pep bus tomorrow!
Brad Putter you better give 89 more points or I'll draw a picture of your hairy speedo backside instead of the wranglers and hang it in the hall!
Heck we could just have our BBQ under the bridge too! Aaron is pretty darn good with the coals in the sand ohhh.... let me rephrase that! He can cook some pretty good bbq with no grill....well heck lol. And I think there should be a prize for the person who brings a cup with E-Z Stop on it!

All this time I thought the cheerleader’s glazed looks and 4th quarter vomiting were due to our horrible football teams. Actually, 7-Up and cherry vodka might explain our football team’s performance too???

With me being a born again christian, I am glad I am not going to be there to witness the hedonistic acts that I can only imagine that will be taking place!

Lance Ramsay (1988)

Heck Chris, if we get into too much trouble that weekend we may stop by Chandler, AZ to see you...as we escape to Mexico.

Scott Gleason (1987)

Lance come on those football teams weren't that bad. I think one year maybe we won 4 games. Or maybe that was in all four years. After reading all your comments I can't help but remember that time you wanted us to take a knee and pray for a two point conversion. What happened to you did you take a wrong turn or something?

Ok, so I finally looked through my photo album and came up with some pretty interesting photos. I can't believe I took these pictures, I was barely able to walkk that morning. After our class, I wonder if they allowed the class of '89 to sleep on the lawn? I posted these pictures under the Alumni Photos page. Enjoy!

Misty-I don't share to much with my 16 year old about my high school years either. And I wonder what they do when they are on the bus too. I remember Joey bringing a 6 pack to my Halloween party our freshman year. My parents took it from him and my Dad Drank part of the 6 pack right in front of him. Of course Dad thanked him for the beer and I don't think he ever said a word to his parents. But back then that was different. Now days kids would be dragged through the court system. But if I found out my boys ever did what we did, there would be hell to pay. Right?

Now Mr. Gleason, I think you’re getting me mixed up with Brad Scott. If you’ll also remember the prayer ended with Brad saying “Because we F@%KING deserve this!”...instead of the slightly more common “amen.” Even in the heat of battle, that struck me as kinda strange and I can’t say I’ve ended a prayer that way since.

By the way, we shouldn’t leave anyone hanging on the exciting story. It was actually a touchdown in the final seconds of a game with St. John, which was homecoming 1986 (Sr. year of the 1987 class). Despite Brad Scott’s prayer sign-off, we won the football game (20-14…I looked it up in the yearbook). Of course most have likely forgotten the heart stopping finish…but cherish the memory of the slow footed, but quick witted Lance Ramsay blocking a punt in the endzone which another brave fighting Coyote recovered for a touchdown in the 1st half. If I’d been just bit a bit more cool and a lot more handsome, I’d have gotten soooooo laid after that game! :-)

By the way, prayer circle leader Brad Scott seems to be doing pretty well at DeSoto High School as their head coach:

Ok...so my kids and husband hate this website!!! They hate that I spend several hours a day editing and re-editing....oh who's going to believe that? I find myself logging on several times a day just to read the messages in this forum. The kids are also tired of me laughing so loud that they can’t get any sleep!!! Several times you've all had me rolling on the floor. I've also enjoyed reading your profiles and getting reacquainted with you and your families. I can’t wait to see all of you!

Katy Gilchrist (Goodnight) (1989)

HMMM, I am ashamed of you all. I never did anything of those things when I was in high school. And so that you all know, the outhouse is still in the back of Chad's yard. Maybe it can be reerected in honor of the class reunion. No the class of 89 did not get to sleep on the lawn but we did get to sleep in the Wyaric(spelling??)parking lot. Does anyone remember Joey and Roger drinking the Fighting Cock. Aaron I can help with the cost of keg, I have change in my ashtray.

Brad Scott (1987)

I can't tell you guys how cool it's going to be to see all of you. Jay and I are going to be down on Saturday morning early. I have a game the night before and he has to admin the game at his school, so we are taking off early Saturday. Is there a golf tournament? When Mom and Dad moved to Dighton, I lost track with so many people from home. It will be good to catch up with you all. I am planning on giving the thanks prayer before we break the seal on the keg. I have really developed a more creative use of profanity that I can't wait to try out. I am planning on taking a 12 pack up on top of the main street buildings and reliving the night before graduation at about 3am on Saturday night/Sunday morning. See you all soon.

Linette Schaller (Miller) (1989)

Well, I do remember the Fighting Cock. I remember taking a big swig of that putrid sh#$ immediately before Roger whipped a shotgun out of the trunk of his car and started shooting at the Wyrick lights while the entire class hit the dirt for fear he would shoot one of us by accident.

Later I recall it raining buckets and we all headed out to Kevin Brakes house where Joey got so sick we all thought he was dying. Then a very scary ride back to town in the gold impala with Chris where we nearly ran over Joe Bratton who had for some reason fallen out of the vehicle he was in in front of us.

No we were not allowed to sleep on the lawn or have a skip day......remember that most exciting trip to the Cosmosphere. Thank you Sally Maack for conning all our parents into signing that petition. But if we had sold any damn magazines maybe we could have afforded to go somewhere else.LOL

As for the river bridge party. Not sure that will happen. They are fixing the bridge as we speak. For some reason KDOT can't figure out why the guard rails on that bridge are falling apart....hmmmmmm.......never seen anything like it before. Perhaps the cement was not designed to withstand subatomic heat from the bonfires every weekend.

I am also looking forward to seeing everyone! My 3 year old has been asking me all morning why I am laughing at the computer. As for the after football festivities, Young's Club is still open and as smoky and nasty as ever. Speaking of Young's I still remember when they used to keep the spare beer out on the floor by the bathrooms and we would go in the back door and fill our coats.....mmmmmm, hot beer, but in those days a free beer was a good beer!

Brad and Jay Scott I had a delightful talk with your mother on Wednesday morning. She is a very proud mommy of her two boys......maybe I should forward her this website so she can see what you two were really up to in high school!!!

I also had a lovely talk with your father three or four years ago. You see he was the principal at the school my stepson attended at the time. I had to call him and find out what the hell was wrong with the boy....LOL.

I do remember a one evening playing "the game" where Brad hit a dip at about 60 in his dad's car breaking the bottom half off of the KHS shop nametag that was on the front bumper turning it from BILL to BIII...oops!

Thanks for the info about the river bridge Linette, if we can't party under the bridge then how about shitting some beer cans at the Wyrick as Super Dave the cop would say.

Ahhhh the old outhouse! Ya remember it well we used Mike Danlers old coyote wagon to bring it into town from some ground that the Burr's owned. I also remember everybody going in there to piss and we had piss running down the sidewalk, then as all the other classes were coming to school we had a few heroic people standing on top of the outhouse throwing fire crackers at the students and Mr. Gailey (who always smelled like burnt orange peels for those who ever got called into his office). Also Karen Gleason as soon as the janitors unlocked the front doors she goes in and lays down right inside the doors and goes to sleep. As people are coming into school they are walking over her to get to their lockers.

Thanks for the memories Lance, you had me rolling.... or LOL or ROFL or LMAO or whatever you people say. Though I woke up that morning peering straight up the hairy nostrils of Brian Sparks, the floor was so warm.

Katy Gilchrist (Goodnight) (1989)

I think Ben Arensmen lives right out side of town. He always thru really good party. Maybe we could convince him to have another for old times. I know he wasn't in the three classes but he could be the older guy going to the liquor store for the keg.

Scott Bean (1988)

I'm not going to be able to make it back for the reunion, but it has been great reading about everyone and seeing what everyone has been up to. I hope someone will take a lot of photos from the reunion and upload them somewhere (no need to share photos of the naked volleyball or speedo prancing though...I don't need to see that!).

Hope everyone has a great time!

Does anyone know if Greg Short's mother is still in Kinsley?

09/26/08 08:03 PM #63

Linette Schaller (Miller) (1989)

I don't know if everyone who is traveling into town has somewhere to stay yet but I noticed that you only have the Midway Inn in Kinsley listed under lodging. I have heard that it is a little scary......like you better bring some flipflops cause the floor is nasty. But supposedly the new managers are fixing it up but don't know what they will have done by October 10.

I do recommend The Tucked Inn. It is a bed and breakfast run by John and Susan Ploger. There are 3 rooms in their house (they have a pool too) and they have what they call a cottage too. I think it is Miss Tyree's house that they have fixed up. But I would recommend it over the Midway Inn any day. To contact them call during the day at 620-659-2201 or 620-659-3303.
