Brad I remember Stuart's head I can't remember what class we were in. I hear he is not to happy since he was moved from his classroom upstairs to somewhere else in the building with all of the changes they had in the school!

Lance, Thanks for reminding me of Mr. Flax. I remember that story. Or I remember watching it out the window as it was happening. I worked for a guy while I was at Juvenile Serivices in Dodge and I now know who he reminds me of. MR. FLAX!!! Wouldn't you agree Michelle and Linette? Same cocky attitude, and that "Who ME?" or "What????" look he would give us. Ok and Lance I think you and I had to do an improv speech and I think you were a homeless drunk or something like that. I can't remember the details but after you mentioned Mr. Flax the memory is starting to come back a bit.

Laura, Hey I'm right there with you on, "I can't wait to see who wrote what today"! Wow now we have all turned into computer geeks!

Oh Wendy, how meek and mild you were doing things for your church. You were such a well rounded teen. I am right there with you and I told my church that could help them feed the poor their Sunday Lunch on Oct. the 12th 2008. So I guess I will not be visiting the bar Saturday night so I can get up at 4am to start cooking for them.

I remember Laura and Luann taking me to my first keg party. Man was it a good time. I am trying to remember who all went to Wilson Lake one weekend. I know there was Chad, Brad, myself and I think Kathy Heacock was involved in the trip. I can not remember who else went with us. I know we left Kinsley and had to stop in Garfield to go to the bathroom. Then the guys got kicked out of the McDonalds at Great Bend.

Does anybody remember the two tone blue car Chad drove for awhile. Looked liked the Starsky and Hutch car but blue. My mom chasing him down and pulling him out of the back seat of the car.

Having roman candle fights in the parking lot and shooting Dave the cop with one of the roman candles.

All this talk about pictures and movies sent me on a mission deep into the basement. I will have you know that is where I keep all my prize possesions and all the boxes of junk or (memories) as my mom likes to call all the boxes she has brought over the years. Where the hell do parents keep this stuff?? Anyway I thought I had some really good photos to post on here but the only ones I could find were the ones that got Wilson and Chris and I kicked out of school and being the gentlemen we have grown to be I will save them to show at the reunion.

I've got an even better photo scam to tell about. One basketball game my sister Shawn and I took our family camera. The key word here is FAMILY. Shawn never thought much about leaving her bag in the stands while she ran around with the other cheerleaders. Someone took the camera out of her bag and took it into the guys locker room then returned it to the bag when they were done. As I said before the camera being a FAMILY camera was given to MOM to develop. As you may have guessed my MOM never showed us the photos. I don't even think she said anything about the camera until we graduated high school. Then one day she confessed that to her surprize there were several NAKED basketball players on the photos (of course showing only below the waist).

Troy, "Boob", Mark and all the other basketball players that went to STATE that year~~MOM swears she disposed of the photos but was never able to look at you guys again without blushing.

Speaking of cameras, didn't someone steal Dr. Boehme's yearbook camera? If i remember correctly, it was taken into the bathroom and a photo was taken of a long nosed, very curly-haired person wearing sunglasses with two large round objects where his mouth should be.

Either all these great memories are coming back to me, or I did way too many hallucinogens in college and i'm having flashbacks.

Also, i have some videos that some of you might want to see. I have all of the football games from 87 on VHS. I also have the musical from 87 on tape as well. I have all four yearbooks from 84-87 and i have my football jersey in a drawer somewhere.

How about if everyone brings some stuff they can find and we put it on a table or something at the party. It'll give us things to laugh about when we're all done comparing beer bellies, stretch marks and pictures of our kids that we think are the most beautiful ever, but probably look like little versions of us. Except my sons have never worn parachute pants with a thin white leather tie that has piano keys on it like their dad. How could anyone think that was a good look? I also remember vaguely that Darin used to wear a snap brim fedora that reminded me of the drummer from Flock of Seagulls. Or Ducky Dale from Pretty in Pink.

Wendy Quisenberry (Leith) (1988)

I'm guessing from Lance's pictures that he is secretly the writer/producer of the show "manswers". I only caught a glimpse of it once as I was beating "I mean gently reprimanding" my sons when I walked in and they were watching it!

Katy, Roman candles at the cops???? No wonder they can't get anybody to come work there!

Laura, I had forgotten about the Korf's until you mentioned them again. I have a funny story about Mr. Korf, but it is way after high school. I recall everyone called him Buffalo Balls probably because he sat on the edge of the desk all the time and really got them out there where you could notice them. Well, my last job, before I became the VERY important Economic Development Director in Edwards County was running a non-profit agency where one of our focus areas was on teen pregnancy prevention. So one of my major duties was to go into the Dodge City Schools and teach sex ed to high schoolers and try to convince them that sex is very bad.

Well, one day I am giving a lecture and I have just uttered something like penis, testicles, or gonads, can't remember which and out of the corner of my eye I see that someone has stopped in front of the class room door and too my surprise it is Mr. Korf just standing there watching me. Believe me I wasn't sure what to say at that point and he kind of threw me off my groove. Anyway, I found out later that after the Korf's retired from Kinsley Schools they started teaching in Dodge....weird.....cause that school district is considerably rougher than KHS.

Speaking of the Korf's I remember a rumor about Mrs. Korf. It had something to do with Troy Leith and the room that connected her's to Mr. Smith's.......hmmmmmmm, Wendy, maybe you can found out if there was any truth to that!

OH WOW-
Brad S. was that "The Music Man"? Or was that the year before?? Yeah, that must be it...college, hallucinogens, that has to be it...not that we are getting older...no way, never...
I can't say as I have very much left from all those years ago...I know my mom has some pictures, and I think she might have my senior mug...However, I think I do have the book of stories that we made in Mrs. Adam's 5th grade class...if I have it, I'll definitely bring it!

Brad S., although I don't recall which tie it was, I do distinctly remember your tie getting caught in the pottery wheel in Mr. Maack's ceramics class. I sure hope it wasn't the white leather with piano keys!!!

Damn it I think I was in the play maybe twice cause I was always getting somewhat grounded for crap I didn't even do. Oh Well!! LOL!! Had a ton of fun!! I even had to miss when we were a senior on freshman orientation. Or whatever the hell we called it back then. Thanks, I think to Darrin Habiger, wrecking the pickup. I do believe!! THANX DUDE!!

I remember the Music Man and every time my kids watch it it brings me back to when Mr. Rahtjen got mad because Brad was having a VERY hard time with the song that goes like...."Well you got trouble my friends, right here I say trouble right here in River City...." Every time he screwed it up the moans got louder. My kids almost know this song by heart and they are 7 and 4!!!! Ok so they can tell you the song "Sing'n in the Rain" just after the first 3 notes. They are theater geeks.

Laura, I think it was because we were girls and the word grounding meant incarceration! I got grounded for 6 weeks just by going all the way accross town in Offerle with a handful of guys to see Shawndel who had to babysit (this was the night of my Halloween party freshman year) I think it was Rob, Greg and Curtis. We stopped by Danny's house to soap his windows and we got a bar of soap from Shawndel. When I got back to the house, poor Jeannie was there all by herself with my parents because I was a pretty rude hostess and left before I realized that not all my guests where gone, (sorry about that Jeannie) Well my parents started lecturing me about how boys are and that they could have rapped me blah blah blah. I looked at them and said, "Yeah right, They would never do that to me." Ok so that is probably what really got me grounded.

Brad S. remember our freshman yr. track meet @ Hoxie? Mr. Tubbs driving the van! I believe we were the only freshmen in track that yr.

Pete (Cheri), did your Dad ever find out what we did to the 70 Monte Carlo, one Easter Sunday afternoon?

I too remember that wonderful algebra class. Sending Cricket(Randy)to get coke bottles then one by one going to "the bathroom" for a drink.

Does anyone remember sophmore yr. before school from Devo's room watching my mom get pulled over by the cops?
She drove behind the school among all the busses loading for Southside and Offerle, oops.

How about those long Biology (Days of Our Lives) lectures!

MTV back when MTV was cool!

Heath being a target of a Blueberry Pie! (Sorry Heath, Mom will never let me live that one down!)

Mindy, remember our Jr.Prom Dates? (Heath would you or Chad like to tell that story?)

Joe Wilson, do you remember what time all those newspapers were delivered to your house? I don't know what time it was, howerver i do know that i arrived home at that same time on many occasion.

YOUNGER YEARS
- little league baseball games (Do you think their teams are still Green and Gold)
- the Dodge City skating rink (back when Disco wasn't dead)
- 4th grade @ Lincon w/the "Chief of Police"
- riding Trigger with Stephanie B.
- hide n seek at Quisenberry's
- the tornado at Girl Scout Camp
- Halloween costume contests @ St. Nick
- Dance with Maxine
- Twirling with my mom
- (Brad P.) Lucky the duck, chocolate milk in the back of your dad's wheat truck and sandwiches to go (tuna salad, egg and mustard with cheese & dill pickle)

Ok, now for one of my must funny memories, 7th grade track, Bob Cain running the mile! The only ones running the mile were those who screwed up and missed their event. Well, at this particular meet Bob Cain got to run the mile, obviously he had never done this before! When the gun went off signaling that the first runner had one lap to go, Bob thought that ment him. So, he sprinted his "last" lap! Crossing the finish line, exhausted and stumbling, Bob bent over and yep, guess those shorts needed to be a size or two bigger! Bob finally realized that he had one more lap to go and off he went for a final "victory" lap!

Lance is right we all have a common upbring. I have these as well as many many more memories. Looking foward to reading more of "ya'lls" stories.

linette,i have a similar story about the good dr. boehme, and it also involves my older sis. she told me that she needed some help after school, and as he was bent over he sniffed out, and out comes a big wet booger! he tries to flick it off her paper, but it sticks to his index finger!! he excused himself, and needless to say she got a an A on that log packet!
my kids all have dr. boehme stories, but i get a kick outta this one! my oldest son said that as a good student in dr. boehmes class, he gets the xtra attention, but he hated it cuz, weird sounds were coming outta dr.b's mouth! well, he told me the next day, he figured out why! dr.b sneezed, and his top teeth protruded out of his mouth, everyone ran when they seen it! my daughter jessica says that dr. b also still uses the pencil to scratch his nads!!!(the eraser part) ooohhhh!

Jena, you mentioning hide and seek brings back memories. Aaron once ran behind the truck during hide and seek and hit his head on a board. We called him Mr. Inman for a week after that! And hide and seek in the town of Offerle. Getting chased by skunks through the woods. Great times!

Does anyone remember a little abandoned house north of town about 1 mile? It was a mile off the blacktop that ran to Rozell to the west. It sat in a little stand of trees kind of on the curve of the road. We tried to rig up some kind of haunted house in it for Halloween one year and we were going to scare a bunch of kids in Jay's class that were going to come out there.

The reason I bring it up was that I was watching that movie "Blair Witch Project" and i was thinking how stupid the characters were and how could they get lost and all that. But at the end when they run into the abandoned house i had a flashback to that house in Kinsley. It scared the shit out of me. All I could think of was that house. Pretty creepy moment.
But then i realized what a total panzy I was being and I drank a beer and felt better. I have a feeling on the 11th I'm going to put some miles on my car revisiting all the old spots like that.

What was the name of that area north west of town that had the church? It was on the way to Leann Kallaus' house. I remember we had a walk a thon and i wound up out there and cheated by catching a ride back to town. Is it still there?

My brother told me they redid the gymnasium. Did they get rid of the rubber floor? What about the bleachers? Do they still go straight up? I remember someone's grandma fell down those one night at a game. I thought she was dead.

Our freshmen year we played larned in a 9th grade game and I was dribbling the ball down the sideline. The coach for Larned wasn't paying attention and because the bleachers are so close, I ran into him and lost the ball. The ref called a technical foul on the coach. I thought he was going to piss himself he was so mad. But I did go out and miss the free throws so it evened out.

Also we should play "The Game" at some point Saturday night.
