Michelle McKay Belt CHARLOTTE- Michelle McKay Belt, 53, passed away late Monday morning, October 20, 2014 at her residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Palo Alto, CA on April 28, 1961, she was the daughter of Dr. Jerry and Beverly Mickley McKay of Fort Mill, SC. Michelle graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC with a BA in Education and had most recently worked as a project manager for Junior Achievement of the Carolinas. She was a member of University City United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband who she married May 28, 1994, Michael Todd Belt; three daughters, Caroline Belt a student at UNC-Wilmington, Cameron Belt and Chloe Belt both at home and a brother, Bruce McKay and his wife, Sheila of Waxhaw, NC. A memorial service is planned for 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at University City United Methodist Church, 3835 W.T. Harris Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28269 with Pastor Gail Wersterlein officiating.
