Hugh died of Leukemia in July 2006.  He is survived by his mother, Cecelia Hedges; sisters Melissa Rankin and her husband, Doug; Holly Turkington and her husband, Sam; his maternal grandmother, Glennice Williams; his aunts, Sherry Williams, Carol Lee Waring and Blanche Welch; his uncles, Walt Williams, Gene Schaezler, and Larry Resek; and a host of beloved cousins.
