Reed and I met when we were four or five years old. He was my best friend for years. We liked to camp, and shoot, and even play golf together. The summer he started to get sick he and his family had been to our home in Crestline for the July 4th weekend. He seamed to be fine. A few weeks later his mother and mine were up for a visit, and his mom mentioned that he was ill and the doctors could not figure what was wrong. We found out shortly after that he had cancer. He lived about another four months. I wonder what he would think of the world today.
