Survived By: Kathleen Ann Anderson passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2007 in Stockton at the age of 54. Born in Whittier, CA, she has lived the past 25 years in Stockton, where she worked as a music teacher for Lodi Unified School District, teaching most recently at John Muir and Oakwood elementary schools. Kathleen loved to swim and was a member of the Masters Swimmers club and recently completed the Tiburon Mile in the San Francisco Bay, the most challenging open water swim in the world. She was a classically trained pianist and received her baccalaureate in Music Education from University of the Pacific. She also loved the outdoors and nature, but her true vocation was that of dedicated wife and loving mother, she will truly be missed by those that know and loved her. Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Anderson of Stockton; her loving children, Matthew David Anderson and Suzanne Laurie Anderson, both of Stockton; mother, Laurie Galleher-Versaw of La Canada; father, Bob Galleher of Hay Fork; sister, Robyn Kidd of OK; brother, Sean Galleher of Enicinitas and three nieces and two nephews
Kathy and I spent our senior year in college together and were roommates. After graduation we lost touch for a very long time. Our daughters were born six months apart and this is how we reunited for a time. We lost touch again for many years. She ended up in Stockton and I in the Sacramento area. We lived only an hour apart but were terrible at keeping in touch. When we did so, it was like no time had ever passed. We met in a summer school reading class in 7th grade. Horses are what helped us survive some very tumultuous times. We rode, we played, we laughed, we cried and yes, got in trouble together. Kathy never lost that mischievous smile or that sparkle in her eyes. Her laugh made me laugh. She had been dealing with MS for a very long but that did not keep her from doing that swim referred to in her obituary. We and our daughters went kayaking just 2 months before she died. We had not seen each other in probably 3 years. Our last day together was so fun! I still miss Kathy and think of her often. She was an incredible friend but more than that, an amazing person. I love her so... Mell LaValley

I'm stunned. What a life she led. Reminds me of hearing someone say recently they never complain about getting old because they promised a friend who died that they'd appreciate every moment.
