David, what a beautiful young man, gone way too soon, still an undergrad when he passed. David, I enjoyed your friendship in LC and at Redlands, you are missed.
Dave, you were a great friend! I miss compeating with you at everything we tried. I miss talking about the Dodgers and Yankee games(notice I still put the Dodgers first!) Everry time I make cinnamon toast I think you you and have a good chuckle. I miss you like a brother!
I was working as a nursing assistant at Glendale Adventist Hospital the summer of 1971 when David died there of ulcerative colitis. I was so deeply impacted by his illness and the conversations I had with his mother there in the hospital, that I decided to go into nursing as a career. David's mother talked about Jim Savage, David Stipe and David Schmucker being close friends as little kids. He was a very fine person.
