Tami Steinmetz (Ziegler)

Tamara Jo ‘Tami’ Ziegler

Tamara Jo “Tami” Ziegler, 33, of La Crosse went home to be with her Lord on Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center after a brief but courageous battle with a rare form of cancer.

She was born in New Ulm, Minn., on Nov. 7, 1972, to Larry and LeAnne (Torgerud) Steinmetz. She married Arlan “Arly” Ziegler in La Crosse on July 26, 1997. Tami had worked as an in-home day care provider for children for many years and later worked as a CNA adult care provider for Lori Knapp Inc. Tami’s loving and nurturing personality was a blessing and a gift for the young and old who were in her care.

In addition to her husband Arly, she is survived by one daughter, Breanna Ziegler, living at home; her father, Larry (Dianna) Steinmetz; her mother, LeAnne (Fiancé Dick Schultz) Lauden; one sister, Heather (Dustin) Olson; two brothers, Tim (Amy) Steinmetz and Heath Lauden; and her paternal grandparents, Orville and Bernice Steinmetz. Tami is further survived by an extended step-family and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Memorial services were held Sept. 14 at First Evangelical Free Church in Onalaska, with burial in Onalaska City Cemetery.
