1948 - 2011

She passed away June 21st after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was very brave over the years and never gave up fighting. She was always smiling and kept her sense of humor through it all. Her family loves her very much and we take much comfort knowing she is no longer suffering.

* Born Aug. 19,1948, in Green Bay, Wis.

* Graduated from Aquinas High School in 1966.

* Married Steven Koelbl in 1969.

* Worked in nursing for 13 years and retired to devote herself to her family.

* Enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and her many wonderful friends.

* Loved spending time with her grandson who brought much love and laughter to her life.

* Greatly loved her dogs over the years.

* She is survived by:

Son - Scott (Angela) Koelbl of La Crosse, Daughter - Dana (Jon) Lewis of Tuckahoe, N.Y., Grandson Jon Lewis III of Tuckahoe, N.Y., Mother - Joyce Bertrand of Green Bay, Wis., Brothers - Craig (Candy) Bertrand of Peoria, Ill., and Todd (Lynn L.) Bertrand of Stevens Point, Wis., Nieces - Sasha, Kala, Allison and Leah

* She is preceded in death by:

* Husband - Steven Koelbl,

* Father - Ralph Bertrand,

* Sister-in-law - Lynn D. Bertrand.

A private burial will be held in Green Bay, Wis.

The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and staff at Gunderson Lutheran Cancer Center, the caretakers from the Hospice program and especially Lori from Meals-on-Wheels.
