Diane Marie (Gordon) Anderson - Loving Wife, Mother, Daughter and Friend

Diane, 56, of Rockford, IL, passed away May 7, 2005 at her home.

She was born March 4, 1948, in La Crosse, the daughter of Daniel Sr. and Florence (Novacek) Gordon.  She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing, Rochester, MN with an LPN degree, and Viterbo University, La Crosse, with an RN degree.  She worked at both Franciscan Skemp and Gundersen Lutheran hospitals in La Crosse.

She was married to Kevin Anderson on Aug. 6, 1983, in La Crosse at St. Joseph's the Workman Cathedral.  She was a member at Cathedral of St. Peter.

Diane will always be remembered for her beautiful laugh and sense of humor, her words of wisdom, her thought-provoking questions, a love of classical music, her hugs and most of all the love she showed for her husband, sons and family.  She loved being a school nurse and watching over all of her students at East High School.  She especially enjoyed her special education students.  Diane had a green thumb and always had beautiful flowers, especially beautiful rose bushes and petunias which were right outside her windows.  She loved nature and enjoyed time at the family cabin.

Diane's family deeply appreciates the loving care given to her during her illness from nurses at Crusader Clinic and Rockford School District, as well as her many friends during her courageous battle with cancer.

Diane is survived by her parents, Daniel Sr. and Florence Gordon of La Crosse; husband, Kevin of Rockford; sons, Erik and Mark of Rockford; brothers, Daniel Jr. (Jeanie) Gordon of La Crosse, Duane (Sue) Gordon and David (Ellen) Gordon of La Crescent and Doug (Mary) of Holmen WI; four nieces and nephews; and one great-niece and three great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Christine.

A funeral Mass was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse.  Inurnment was held at Oak Grove Cemetery.
