Dean Patrick Koenig, 54, of Tempe, AZ, and formerly of Chicago died Sept. 13, 2003.  He was born in La Crosse on Oct. 26, 1948, to Leo and Mary Jane (O'Heron) Koenig of Caledonia, MN

He graduated from Alexian Brother Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago and Milwaukee County Medical College Nurse Anesthesia Program

He was commissioned a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy where he served in the Medical Corp from 1970 - 1972.

His health career included counseling and management at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center and Aurora Chicago Lakeshore Hospital in Chicago.

Dean is survived by his brother, John (Jack) and Mary Koenig of Cedarburg, WI; and three sisters, Shirley (Jim) Marquardt of Baraboo, WI, Sharon (Rod) Kopecky of Baraboo, and his twin sister, Jean (Bud) Raymer of West Salem.  He ws also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and an infant brother, Steven Michael Koenig.

Dean was a loving, caring and very generous son, brother, uncle and friend.  He was very proud of being Irish and had a devilishly dry sense of humor we so much enjoyed.  We will miss him dearly.  A private family service was held in Phoenix.
