George P. Olson, 56, of La Crosse passed away Aug. 25, 2004, at St. Joseph Rehab Center.
He was born in La Crosse Aug 9, 1948, to Romeo C. and Catherine M. (Ebert)Olson. He graduated from UW-L in 1972. He married Teresa Poellinger on Nov. 25, 1978. George was an avid bowler and golfer whose greatest golf accomplishment was a hole-in-one witnessed by his close friends. He loved Christmas, especially playing Santa Claus. He was active with Holy Trinity Catholic Church Men's Club and was a church usher. He enjoyed walking, and bike riding in the neighborhood, where he lived his whole life. George was a 15-year employee of Stansfield Vending Co., La Crosse. He loved to go to concerts and was especially proud of seeing Bruce Springsteen five time.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa; a daughter, Catherine; a brother, Chuck (Jerene) Olson; sisters, Betty (Jerry) Roesler and Jean (Ron) Justus; his mother-in-law, Mary Poellinger: sister-in-law, Susie (Rich) Thompson; brothers-in-law, Bill (Sue) Poellinger and Steve (Brandi) Poellinger; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter, Laura.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Trinity with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
