Margaret "Meg" L. Harter, 59, of La Crosse passed away Friday, October 24, 2008, at St. Joseph's Rehab Center in La Crosse.

She was born October 26, 1948, in Louisville,KY to Harry and Marie (Swords) Schmidt.

Survivors include her husband, Bil;' four children, Jessica (Andy) D'Ambrosia and their children, Denver and Isabella, all of La Crosse, Amanda (Shawn) Stenberg and their son, Alex, of Whitehall, Josh Harter of Eleva, WI and Erica (Devon) Hubbell and their children, Cassie and Jacob, all of Blair; on sister, Mary (Dondi) Kilbourne of Birmingham, AL; one brother, Charles Schmidt of La Crosse; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

In accordance with Meg's wishes, her body was cremated and there was a private gathering.  

Woodruff-Jandt Funeral Home in La Crosse handled the arrangements.
