Geraldine S. Arnold, 27, of 3161 So. 31st St., was killed in a two vehicle accident on Dec. 6, 1977. La Crosse Police said Mrs. Johnson was southeast bound in the 4100 block of Mormon Coulee Road passing another vehicle just north of Birch Lane when her car skidded out of control and into an oncoming traffic lane at about 7 p.m. The victim’s car struck a truck whose driver was uninjured. Fire crews responding to the call applied heart massage, but efforts to revive Mrs. Johnson failed and she was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Francis Hospital.

 

Mrs. Johnson was born on Sept. 19, 1950 in La Crosse to Elmer R. and Shirley (Snyder) Arnold. She was a saleswoman for Crown-Volvo-Datsun.

 

Survivors include her husband, Michael; her parents; her maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Snyder of Onalaska; one sister, Jean Arnold of La Crosse; and two brothers, Elmer L. Arnold of La Crosse and Eldon Arnold of Onalaska. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents.

 

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rev. J.L. Mattes will officiating and burial to be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dickinson Funeral Homes’ Jackson Street Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 Friday at the church.
