
John A. Burnett, 39, of 1705 La Crescent St. died Friday, Nov. 10, 1989, in Lutheran Hospital-La Crosse.
He was born July 26, 1950, at St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada to Alastair and Martha Ann (Bowman) Burnett. He was employed by Mesaba Airlines in Minneapolis and MVA in La Crosse. He served with the US Army in Vietnam. He married Cheryl Weibel in 1971 and they divorced. He married Donna McGath in 1989.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Lynn and Kristine Elizabeth, both of Onalaska; his mother of La Crosse; a sister, Elizabeth Burnett Rogers of Plymouth, Minn.; and a brother, Robert Hugh Burnett, of Georgetown, Ontario, Canada. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at North Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Allan Townsend will officiate and burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dickinson Funeral Homes Jackson Street Chapel Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. and at the church Monday from noon until the service.

John Robert Kluth
John (aka Ian) was a good friend. He passed away way to early. He served our country in Vietnam. He had a dual Canadian citizenship so he could have not served. I had some good times with him after his return working together at Mississippi Valley Airways. Rest in peace John.
