John “Mike” Facteau, formerly of La Crosse, died at Flagler Memorial Hospital, St. Augustine, Florida, on Friday, May 23, 2003 at the age of 52.

He was born Aug. 26, 1950 to Bernice (Ahlstrom) and Capt. Robert Facteau in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Mike graduated from La Crosse Central High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a 30-year resident of St. Augustine, working in many phases of the building trade. He was very active in Post No. 37 of the American Legion in St. Augustine.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; his mother, Be; a brother, Bob (Carol) Facteau of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; a sister, Lynn (Keith) Bohlman of Davenport, IA; and five step-children and seven step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Walter and Alice Ahlstrom, and Eldage and Josephine Facteau.

According to his wishes, he will be cremated. Memorial services will be held in St. Augustine. Graveside services will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse, at a later date.

Mike was a kind and loving person and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
