Pamela Jo Sobkowiak, age 63 of French Island (La Crosse, Wisconsin) passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 19, 1950 in La Crosse to Art and Gerry (Lackore) Hegel. Pam graduated from La Crosse Central High School with the class of 1968. She married her best friend, Gregory J. Sobkowiak on August 31, 1974.

Of the different jobs Pam had, her favorite was dog-sitting with the sweetest dogs in the world. She was a long time member of the American Legion Auxilary and the Eagles Aerie 1254 Auxilary.

Pam is survived by her husband Greg; daughter Shelly (Trisha) Danielson of Saint Cloud, Minnesota; sons Michael (Michelle) Sobkowiak of Cataract, Wisconsin and David (Kitzi) Sobkowiak of Onalaska, Wisconsin; grandson Blake Finn and granddaughter Skylar Sobkowiak; sister Sandy Baumgartner of La Crosse; brothers, Allen (Marlene) Hegel of Racine and Clark of La Crosse; mother-in-law, Janice Sobkowiak; sisters-in-law, Vicki Sobkowiak, Dawne (Mike) Keaveny and Tammie (Norm) Sobkowiak and several nieces and nephews.

Pam was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Jo; her parents and her father-in-law Don Sobkowiak.

Pam would like to thank the staff of the Gundersen Lutheran Oncology Center and Gundersen Lutheran Hospice. They are an amazing group of people.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 1425 Jackson Street, La Crosse.
