
Rosemarie "Rosie" Osweiler, 59, of St. Paul died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, in St. Paul.
She was born in La Crosse on March 30, 1950, to Louis and Marie (Beranek) Osweiler. She was a 1968 graduate of La Crosse Central High School. She received her associate's degree in accounting from Western Wisconsin Technical College in 1970, and later received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Viterbo University in 1984, and her master's degree in gerontology from Bethel University in St. Paul in 2007.
Rosie was employed at Desmond's Formal Wear in La Crosse for many years. In 1981, she entered the order of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and was employed at the Villa St. Joseph. She left the order in 1988 and settled in St. Paul. While in the Twin Cities area, Rosie worked for Kemp Marigold Foods, DeLasalle High School as a business manager, Eduserv Technology, and her final job was working for Sara Lee Baker Group (Taystee Bread).
Rosie wanted to thank her many, many friends for sharing their lives with her. Rosie was a friend of "Bill W.'s" for many years.
Rosie is survived by her brother, Gerald; aunts and uncles, Robert and Elaine Beranek and Charles Beranek; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Barbara; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Osweiler and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beranek; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, La Crosse. The Rev. Lawrence B. Berger will officiate. Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the church Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be donated to Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. Wulff Funeral Home of St. Paul and Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse are assisting with arrangements.
