Karen A. Stach (Schulte)

Karen A. (Stach) Schulte, 60, of La Crosse died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas.

Karen was born Oct. 25, 1950, to Kenneth and Joan (Cavadini) Stach. She married Thomas Schulte on Aug. 26, 1978, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska.

Throughout her life, Karen enjoyed gardening (roses were her specialty), landscaping, interior decorating, traveling, collecting clocks and music boxes. She loved her dogs and would go nowhere without them. She was involved with and loved her church.

Karen is survived by her husband, Thomas; two stepdaughters, Deanne Owen and Erika D’Angiola; and three grandchildren.  She is also survived by her mother, Joan Stach of La Crosse; one sister, Carol (Robert) Kasparek of La Crosse; and four brothers, Steve and Randy, both of La Crosse, Michael (Rhonda) of Tennessee and Richard (Lana) of La Crosse. Additionally, she is survived by her special aunt, Dorothy Lebakken; and by many uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Stach; a brother, John; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and aunts, uncles and a cousin.

She will be forever in our hearts and missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse. The Rev. Lawrence B. Berger will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is assisting the family with arrangements.
