Linda L. Severson, 45, of rural Ferryville, died Friday, Feb. 23, 1996 in the Bethany St. Joseph Nursing Home, La Crosse where she had been a resident since Jan. 19, 1996.

She was born Sept. 16, 1950, in La Crosse, to Harvey and Lucille (Reiter) Zielke. She graduated from Central High School in 1968. She then worked as a sales clerk at K-Mart until her marriage Oct. 14, 1972, in La Crosse, to Gerald “Jerry” Severson. They lived in La Crosse and Winona, Minn. before moving to rural Ferryville in 1976. She has assisted her husband in the operation of their business, Severson Electrical.

She was an active member of Utica Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Mary Circle, and served on the Evangelism Committee and the Board of Education.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; one daughter, Kimberly and her fiancée, Tim Hatlan, both of La Crosse; one son, Kevin at home; one brother, Gordon (Gwen) Zielke of Onalaska; one niece, Gretchen Zielke of Onalaska; and one nephew, Luke Severson of St. Cloud, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Utica Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Finger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Thorson Funeral Home, Viroqua, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to services Monday in the church.
