Terry Zielke

Terry P. Zielke, 55, of La Crosse died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at his home.

Terry was born Dec. 9, 1949, in La Crosse to Patrick and Beatrice (Forer) Zielke. He was in the first class to graduate from the new Central High School in La Crosse. Terry served in the United States Army for three years and was stationed in Germany.

He was employed as a floor manager for ACE Hardware in La Crosse for many years. Terry also was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in La Crosse, where he was employed as custodian and had served on the church council. In addition, he owned and operated his own business in La Crosse, Terry's Home Services.

Terry enjoyed bowling, traveling and camping. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the outings at his dad's shack and the annual trip to the boundary waters.

Survivors include his best and very special friend, Donna Cullmann of La Crosse; three children, Carrie (Tony) Doosendorf and Tony Zielke, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Alex Seitz of La Crosse; two step-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Nathaniel; his parents, Pat and Bea Zielke of La Crosse; two brothers, Tom (Lynn) Zielke of La Crosse, and Tim Zielke of Milwaukee; three sisters, Sheryl (Jim) Wrighter of Mobile, Ala., Pati (Jack) Breisina of Lake Holcomb, Wis., and Susan Zielke of La Crosse; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter and Margaret Zielke; his maternal grandparents, John and Eva Forer; a brother-in-law, Mike Spies; a nephew, Artie Breisina; and a great-nephew, Peyton Zielke.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4141 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse. The Rev. Roger Hjelle and the Rev. Heather Lampert will officiate. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by the Roy Vingers American Legion Post 52 of La Crosse and the State of Wisconsin Department of Veteran's Affairs Funeral Honors Program.

Friends may call at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Woodruff-Jandt Funeral Home, La Crosse, is in charge of arrangements.
