Beate Sakins

Beate Sakins-King, 48, passed away peacefully at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX on Tuesday morning, October 11, 2011, with her loving husband Wayne and sister Renate at her side.Beate was born to Henry and Veronika (Muktepavels) Sakins on January 26, 1963 in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Central High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin.She followed her passion for music and accepted a music scholarship at Trinity University in San Antonio. Following graduation and throughout her life Beate was a private instructor teaching flute and piano, for many years at Monfrey Music.Beate was also an active member of the St. Anthony de Padua Choir, where she played the flute, and is a former member of the Trinity Choral Union. She loved animals and was a member of The Humane Society.Beate is survived by her husband, Wayne King; sister, Renate Sakins of Pittsburgh, PA, aunts, uncles, and cousins in the US and Latvia.She was predeceased by her parents.No funeral will be held. Beate donated her body to the University of Texas Health Science Center. A memorial service honoring Beate's life will be held on a future date.
