IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE WE HAVE REACHED THE AGE THAT WE HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS. LIFE IS SO PRECIOUS. I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE ALOT OF ROD DURING HIS LAST YEARS ON EARTH. HE WAS REALLY MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN SO MANY PEOPLES LIFE. I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO COACH ONE OF HIS CHILDREN IN BASEBALL A FEW YEARS AGO. RODS LOVE FOR THIS CHILD AND FOR ALL OF HIS CHILDREN WAS WONDERFUL. I HOPE THIS WILL BE AN EYE OPENER FOR ALL OF US AS TO HOW QUICKLY WE CAN BE GONE. LOVE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. LET ALL KNOW HOW PRECIOUS THEY ARE TO YOU. ROD WAS A WONDERFUL GENTLEMAN, A LOVING FATHER, AND A DEAR FRIEND. GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY.
Wow, Hate to hear that Rod is no longer here. He was a true friend in High School, and such a gentleman. He always seem to be watching my back as we used to call it. I guess because I was so little for my age he always said I was like his little sister. He used to love my mom, and he would always call her mom, and talk with her when she would pick me up after practice. Rod was always a true friend and loved by many. I know he has been truly missed. And, yes you are right Doug, life is very precious to bad it takes us too long to figure that out!
I couldn't believe it when someone told me Rod had passed away. I didn't even know about it until after the funeral. I went to school with Rod from kindergarten all the way until 1980. He was a very special person to me. I agree with you Cindy; Rod Jackson was a caretaker, a gentleman, and a true friend. My condolences go out to his wife, and family. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
It was such a shock to find out Rod had passed away. What a friend he was!He reminded me so much of my dad;a good friend,a good father, a good husband,a good son.I saw all those qualities in his life.Rod Jackson was a good man,a gentleman. Whenever I'd see him I'd always give him a big hug. Sending you a hug Rod! With much Love Joy
Rod was a "Gentle Giant". He was always with his family. He had a true love for children, not only his own, but all. We were neighbors for years and he always had the same gentle nature. May you rest in peace. You left a wonderful example to your children.
