JOYNER, Jeffrey Jeffrey Cole Joyner, 44, of Decatur, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Surviving are his parents, Jasper and Jeanette Joyner; brother, Jathan Joyner; sister Jennifer Joyner all of Rock Spring, Georgia. Services for the family and friends will be private. A. S. Turner & Sons.

Today, I received a call with this sad news from Danny Claire. It seems that Jeff died from a massive heart attack yesterday. His parents are having a private memorial on Monday at their home in Rock Spring.

Jeff was one of a special group of friends I had in high school. He was one of the "real" people. We gave him the nickname "Jasper." I don't remember why now, but I do remember that he was always fun-loving, happy, and true to his friends. I am so sad to see that he is gone. RIP, my old friend.
