I remember in grade school, summer before sixth perhaps, I was at 4H camp off of Hunter Road on the north end of the valley. (I was never in 4H however.) We stayed in cabins and played games like "disguise and hide your potato" and maybe went swimming (sorry I have a poor long term memory). Anyway, on one of the final nights we had a dance. It was my first dance and I was nervous. I remember Lori and I kept looking at each other from across the floor and smiling. Finally, with only a few song remaining, we danced. It was my first dance with a girl and I recall being very sweaty and full of butterflies. We danced the remainder of the slow songs together and then everyone retired to their cabins. I saw her the following year at the grade school track meet at Central. We didn't say hi to each other although I'm sure we would've enjoyed it. I'm sorry she is gone.
I remember Lori as one of the kindest peaple I ever knew. She was always there and smiling. She had a great personality and I feel priviledged to have known her. I remember playing sports with her and I always loved how great of a team player she was. I will always remember Lori as a wonderful perosn.
I have known Lori since we were 3 and in "Sunbeams" (at church) together. She was always smiling and loved laughing. She was a prankster at heart. I remember her always playing pranks on people. I had a big get together at my house and she was there. She asked me for a glass of water. When I turned on the faucet to fill the glass I got sprayed by the sprayer hose attached to the sink. She had put a rubberband around it. I was soaked. The funny thing is, that in our house in Eugene, sometimes the button on the sprayer hose sticks and when I turn on the faucet I get sprayed. I just have to smile and think that Lori must be cracking up seeing that. She was always very creative with ideas of things to do, and she was a great listener. I miss her and think about her a lot.
Lori introduced to me to Bree Sharp and "David Duchoveny." Working on kitchen crew for forest firefighters was a blast as long as Lori was in the kitchen with me. She pretty much had the best laugh and jabbed so much fun at me, I finally learned to laugh at myself.
I met Lori in the sixth grande and she was one of the first to welcome me. I was new to Central and she talked to me everyday and always wanted me to hang out with her and her friends at recess playing kickball. I remember her always laughing and playing pranks on people. Something will definatly be missing at the reunion because before she passed, i was looking forward to seeing her at the reunion.
