Roger you were my close friend for the last 20 years and my heart for the the last 16. I will truly miss you forever. We started dating 7-13-93. In the begining of our relationship the words I LOVE YOU was not mention instead I said "I miss your Face" We were Married 11-16-94. Well for the last 16 years we had alot of ups and down with 2 kids and more fun then 2 people were suppose to have. 5-20-08 Roger was diagnosis With AML Acute Myloid Leukemia. We spent between 3 rounds of Chemo and a Antologic stem cell transplant in UNC Hospital about 95 hard sad days between all the rounds. He was on scheual to have Bone Marrow Biopisy every 4 months. He had a clean bone marrow boispy in December and another in April that is when he was rediagnosis with AML. May 5, 09. Roger went in the Hospital to start Chemo again he stayed there until June 3, 09 He came home for about 6 weeks and went back into the Hospital 7-20-09 he started Total Body Raditation from 7-21 to 7-24 had 8 treatments two each day then 2 days of Chemo. On 7-29 he had his transplant from his brother stem cells. Every thing was going according the what the Dr said they would for a week then things starting going bad. He had some signs of Graph VS Host desease which was a good thing but some where around the 6th of Augest his he showed signs of Veno-Occlusive Disease and was sent to the ICU unit to help get the fluid off his body. they had to put more fluid on the in to keep his blood pressure up to do the fluid off. He's Liver failed and Kidneys were not far behind. By Monday Morning they said there was a 1% (I still dont understand how it got so bad so Quickly) of a chance to recover. A Machine was filter his fluid, pumping his heart and was breathing for him. I had to make the decision to remove him from Life support after the family was called in. He passed 8-10-08 at 8:50 pm. Me and His family surround him in his passing. Half of me died there as well. Roger was a Believer in Christ so I know that one day we will meet again. ROGER I MISS YOUR FACE 20 years was not enough

I was completely devistated by the news of Roger's passing. I had known Roger for years and never once walked past him without speaking......if you truely knew him you were compelled to be his friend. His personality never changed. He was always true to himself which made him a wonderful person and friend.
Susan, my deepest sympathy goes out to you and your two children. We should all rest a little easier tonight knowing that such an angel will be in waiting for us. Those of us who were fortunate enough to call Roger our friend will surely miss him.
I have just learned about Roger passing and I can not express how sad it was to hear the news. My heart goes out to Susan and the family. I know that he will be with us in spirit at the reunion. Roger was such a nice person and treated everyone the same. He will be missed.
Roger may have been the sweetest guy I ever knew. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to give. I was both shocked and saddened at the news of his passing. The world was a better place because he was in it. My heartfelt sympathy goes to his family and friends. He will be missed by all who were blessed enough to have him touch our lives.
