I had known Cody since middle school and always had a huge crush on him and that surfer boy hair and tan. I remember we were in the 9th grade and I already had my car but not my license. I was out driving my car one day (without permission) and came flying around the curve on Banks School Road (after you go across the railroad tracks from Hwy 70) and there sat Cody. His car had ran out of gas. I stopped, picked him and took him to get some gas. When I took him back to his car he was telling me how much he appreciated that because his dad would get mad if had known he had ran out of gas. I laughed and said "not as mad as mine would be if he knew that I was driving my car since I don't have a license". His eyes almost bugged out of his head. He never did let me live that down, always said that he had something on me. He is definitely missed. How ironic that he and Timmy Gaines were laid to rest only a few feet away from each other.
