Gary Childs, 63, died January 4, 2008. His death was a result of cancer. Gary leaves behind a family who will miss him terribly: Margaret, his wife of 39 years, daughter Nicole, son Cappy, daughter-in-law Elizabeth and grandsons, Colby and Brady. Gary graduated from Oregon's Willamette University where he was a Phi Delta Theta. After a year of law school, Gary decided to pursue a career in the steel industry. Gary began his career with Kaiser Steel in 1968 and continued on with CSI, Oregon Steel and Kelly Pipe. Besides his family and friends, Gary's passion in life was golf. He enjoyed playing the game as well as directing it, and served as a board member at Lake Arrowhead Country Club for many years. Gary was a devoted father, beloved husband and dedicated friend to many. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Published in The Desert Sun on January 10, 2008
