Joan Clifford Geer was born in Oakland, California on October 19, 1944. She graduated from Acalanes High School in 1962 and Diablo Valley College with honors in 1964. Joan moved to Modesto in 1977 and earned a degree in Child Development. She dedicated her life to the education of young children and was a Co-founder and Director of Kairos Child Development Center for many years. Joan was also a dedicated member of her Church.
Joan is survived by her mother, Helen Clifford and sister, Linn Latimer, both of Lafayette, California; her brother, Robert Clifford of Martinez, California; her daughter, Kimberly Geer of Modesto, California and her daughter Robyn Castillo and son-in-law Philip, grandsons, Matthew and Jonathon Castillo all of Clovis, California. Joan is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Karen Frost and her family who helped care for her.
A Memorial Mass will be said at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 11 AM.
