David Henry Dawa, Sr. passed away at his home in Morgan Hill, Calif., Saturday, March 18, 2006. He was 62. He is survived by sons, David H. Dawa, Jr., of Vacaville, Michael D. Dawa and Orlando P. Dawa of Vallejo, Calif.; and daughters, Diana M. Dawa of Springfield, Va., and Ladonna J. Alarcon, Vallejo, Calif. Sons Nicolas and Shane Dawa of Nebraska also survive Mr. Dawa. Other survivors include his sisters, Pat Newcomb of Palm Springs, Bonita Newcomb and Pandora Bowes of Sacramento, Marlene Pierson and Sonja Sutcliffe; and brother, Orlandino Dawa of Rodeo, Calif.
Dave was one of the first classmates who welcomed me in my Sophmore year at Acalanes. I had just moved from Pennsylvania and it was a difficult transition to start a new school from the East to West Coast. Dave made me feel welcome and had such a great smile and soft voice.
