Karen died of a brain aneurism in our junior year at Cal (1964). She had just transferred from DVC and had become engaged. It was devastating to me as we had been such good friends in high school.

Seems like she died in the spring of our junior year at Cal. I didn't know her there but remember her from academic pursuits at Acalanes. She died way too young!!
Karen and I met while she was at DVC where I met her fiance who worked with my now husband, Dick Nissen (’61). I will always remember Karen as a very sweet and positive person and I was SO shocked when I heard the news of her sudden death.
I knew Karen by sight in school but not personally. While working for a contractor with Roxy White, who helped me get the job, I met Karen while Roxy and my wife Judy and I went on a date. We became good friends and had several good times together. Came to work one day and the boss told me Karen had died the day previous of a brain hemorrhage. Could not believe it. Roxy was devastated as they were engaged. She was one of my favorite people I got to know from school. Still think of her often. Jim Hassay
