Edwin Charles “Chuck” Rodekohr peacefully passed away on November 13, 2016 following a courageous battle with melanoma.  He was 72 years old.
Born in Baton Rouge, LA on August 15, 1944, to Howard & Helen Rodekohr , Chuck was a retired Lieutenant with the Alameda Police Department, proudly serving for 30 years.  He had worked on the team designing and overseeing the construction of the City of Alameda Jail, Communications Center and the Investigation Division Quarters.  Prior to his police career, Chuck has served his country in the United States. Navy.  He enjoyed fishing, wood working, photography, traveling, and genealogy.  Chuck was a dedicated dad who had actively coached his children in a soccer, baseball, softball and basketball. Above all, he loved his family.  They gave him purpose and he took great pride in each of their accomplishments.  Chuck was treasured by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Lori Rodekohr of San Ramon; children, Michelle Delzer, Jennifer & Steve Willoughby and Blake Kreeft; siblings, Sue Morrow and her wife, Donna Hawxhurst and Steve & Kim Rodekohr; grandchildren, Brady Delzer, Jacob Willoughby and Chase Delzer; many loving extended family and cherished friends.
At Chuck’s request, his ashes will be scattered off Lover’s Point in Monterey, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations to in Chuck's memory may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
