Born May 30, 1944, in Richmond, Mr. Young was the son of Frank and Jesse Violet [Mckenzie] Young. According to his family members, "he was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist who passed that passion on to his children and grandchildren. His greatest joys in life were his grandchildren's sporting events, where he often claimed a front row seat. He instilled the love of sports, hunting, and fishing in everyone he met."
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Brooke Bourland-Young; daughter, Heather Vermazen and husband Rusty; son, Rodger Young and wife Jennifer; and grandchildren, Andrew and Seth Young, and Sarah Rose, and Grace Vermazen, all of Woodland.
He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Bourland; former wife, Janet Young of Arbuckle [m. 19 Dec 1964 in Contra Costa Co.]; stepchildren, Shali Baldwin of New Jersey and Chris Baldwin of Chicago; sisters, Valerie Voorhies and Tracy Burkdoll of Clyde; brother, Doug Young of Santa Cruz and their families also survived him.
