Oveda "Mikki" Robinson Marcus, 30, of Jacksonville, a former resident of Lake City, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Shands Hospital at The University of Florida in Gainesville following an extended illness.
Born in Columbia County, she was the daughter of Macy Montgomery and Clarence Robinson Jr. She attended public schools in Columbia County and was attending Florida Junior College in Jacksonville. Mikki, as she was so well known among her friends, was employed by the Duval County Sheriff's Office for the past 8 years and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Lake City.
Survivors include her parents, Macy Montgomery and Clarence Robinson Jr. (Patricia) of Palatka; a daughter, Alexis Marcus of Jacksonville; devoted grandparents, Clarence and Gwendolyn Robinson of Lake City; a sister, Lanette Montgomery; four brothers, Travis Bowles of Atlanta, Baalim Zarah (Nekeshia) of Jacksonville, Bryan Robinson and Christopher Robinson of Palatka; two aunts, Maenell Bailey (Timothy) and Natalyn White(James) both of Lake City, an uncle, Ronald Robinson (Sharlene) of Atlanta; a great-great-aunt; four great-aunts; two nieces; a nephew and numerous cousins and sorrowing friends.
Funeral services for Oveda (Mikki) Robinson Marcus, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin Baker, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Rest Cemetery. Arrangements by COMBS FUNERAL HOME , 400 E. Washington St., Lake City.
