James Donnan Fiester, 64, a lifelong resident of Lake Forest, died March 24, 2013. Husband of Kimberly; father of Andrew (Karen) Fiester of San Francisco, David Fiester of Bozeman, MT and Lauren Fiester of Portland, OR.; Grandfather of Katherine Fiester; Special Uncle Jim to Trevor Page; Son of the late Charles Donnan Fiester and the late Virginia Heise Fiester Frederick; Stepson of the late Kenneth Frederick; Brother of Alan (Linda) Fiester and Sheryl Fiester-Ross; Uncle of several nieces and nephews. James was born April 22, 1948 in Lake Forest , attended Lake Forest High School, earned the title of Eagle Scout, and was a graduate of Monmouth College. He had a lifelong love of photography and, early in his career, worked on many feature films and commercials as a camera assistant. Jim started his own company, Windy Cine Productions, producing and editing commercials, corporate films and videos. He discovered his love of computers with the first Apple IIE. He was co-owner of Lake Shore Computers in Lake Forest for four years until he went back into film production. Jim passed along his passion for film and video as an instructor at Columbia College and at Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy. Services will be private for the family.
