Andy, you've been gone so long, but I haven't forgotten you. As a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy and having landed a job as an engineer at Litton Industries, you had everything in front of you. A motorcycle accident on a California highway a year or two after graduation ended it all.
You and Steve lived in the house behind me, and our mothers were best friends and bridge players. I remember you from way back in first grade. There was no one else to play with in our neighborhood, so we formed a club--you, me, Steve, and Jon Hallstrom. We built "forts" and held meetings. We were once thrown out of our fort by Mrs. Hallstrom because we started a fire in order to have a barbecue. We spent a lot of time together in the summers until, of course, it was no longer "cool" to hang around with girls.

You are missed.
