Leslie, of Montrose, CO, was born Jan 5, 1948 in Lake Forest, and passed away Feb 20, 2005 after a couragous battle with cancer. She was a longtime resident of Lake Bluff and graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1966, after spending her senior year as an American Field Service foreign exchange student in Norway. In 1970 she graduated from The Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. Leslie was formerly employed by the Illinois State Scholarship Commission. She was a dedicated volunteer at Montrose Memorial Hospital for many years and was a member of Chapter FJ, P.E.O. Sisterhood. She is survived by her parents Leo W. and Lois K. Gilchrist of Sturgeon Bay, WI, who lived in Lake Bluff for 45 years where they raised their 4 daughters; and by her sisters Lynn of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Lori (Richard) Jaros of Lake Forest, and Lisbeth Traer of Wilmette. Leslie was also an aunt to several nieces and nephews and one grand nephew. Her life was defined by her great love of family, her sense of humor, her friends, and her artistic talent in needlework and design. Her loved ones will always treasure her creations and memories.
