It is with tremendous sadness that I inform all of you about the passing of Nancy Arnold Neumann, my very dear friend, and friend of so many in the LFHS class of 1962.
Nancy passed away on June 21, 2013, in New Jersey, due to complications of double pneumonia. She fought a long battle in the hospital, fighting this common, but often fatal disease.
We all remember Nancy, the fantastic personality, sense of humour, tenacity and fun loving gal. I remember the dear friend, great support and one who possessed great character and integrity. She was always only a phone call away, and we could chat for hours.........and laugh for hours, too.
Nancy and her husband, and best friend, Frank Neumann moved to New Jersey some 39 years ago. Even though the last 45 years or so, we have lived at least 1,000 miles away, we always stayed in touch with each other. She LOVED Lake Forest, even though she had not visited since our 25th reunion. She was so proud to show Frank where she grew up and went to school. The last time I saw Nancy was in 2001 when she and Frank visited me in Florida, where I was living at that time. She was still the same happy, cheerful, thoughtful, caring friend she was all those years ago at LFHS.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Frank Neumann, her nieces Lisa Brooke Arnold Rau (George) of Ashburn, Va., Tamara Arnold Richards (Rich) of Coral Gables, Fla., great niece and nephews: Colin Rau, Liem Rau, Zachary Richards and Penny Richards, Nicholas Hammonds of Lewes, Delaware and a host of friends that were so very fortunate to have had her in their lives.
